TIME DOES NOT HEAL
TIME DOES NOT HEAL
They say time heals all wounds but I found that it doesn’t. Time can only numb the pain. With time you get used to it. You learn how to live with your pain.
The only truth is:
Healing takes time.
Healing is personal and intentional. You will never heal if you don’t face what ails you. If you don’t accept the ugly side.
When you decide to heal, you may feel the pain all over again. Like adding insult to injury. Like opening up new wounds you didn’t know existed. Like lifting a rug that you put all your dirt in.
Healing is painful and takes longer than expected. Healing shows you all the ugly sides of situations. Healing isn’t as romantic as we wished it would be.
Healing requires shedding of habits and coping mechanisms you built for yourself. You may say, healing calls for self-denial. Healing requires you to look at yourself as you truly are. Healing requires you to be brutally honest with yourself.
Healing comes with episodes of extreme proudness that you have conquered a mountain and extreme sorrow that things were not as you thought they’d be.
Healing creates an easiness in you.
Healing creates a confidence in yourself.
Healing brings you back to your childlike joy.
Healing is beautiful but it requires a patience and a humbleness for yourself.
Healing requires you to acknowledge what the situation is and to forgive all those involved including yourself.
Healing should be sought and healing should be intentional.
